A UK-based start-up has been selected by US real estate company EQ Office to provide its mobile app services to  tenants at Playa District, a new 33-acre office campus in West Los Angeles.

District Technologies has a mobile phone service that digitises building management-related services, information and functions. It was first launched in 2017 at Blackstone’s Chiswick Park asset close to Central London in the UK.

In an announcement this week trumpeting several developments for Playa District, EQ said District Technologies’ app would be providing building news and updates while also allowing people to RSVP for campus events, in addition to using a Quick Response code credentials powered by Waltz to access entry points.

EQ says Playa District, whose construction has just been completed following a $32 mln investment, ‘sets a new standard for lifestyle and wellness’. Some 150-plus businesses are tenants at the campus.

Playa District offers several services for tenants such as concierge programmes, an on-site gym offering fitness and yoga classes, outdoor conference rooms, activity centres, a farmer’s market, food trucks and is also purposefully dog friendly.

As well as announcing completion of the construction, EQ also said that Industrious, the New York-based firm, had been selected as the flexible workspace provider and the tenant experience management operator.

EQ Office was formerly known as Equity Office Properties and was taken over by Blackstone in 2007.
